Today in EPIC History

March 25, 2008 - A lonely elf stands in an empty field trying her best to cobble together a bunch of blocks in an attempt to complete her first full build...the club that will become and is known today only as "EPIC".

EPIC officially turns two years old today.

The Sci-Fi Blowout

It was a lot of fun watching everyone dance around in their cyber armor. Naturally we had a Star Trek contingent and a Star Wars group (complete with Boba Fett!). The warp core never completely lost containment, and if you were fortunate enough to look up from the dance floor, this is what you would have seen...

Photography Contest Results

Though I had hoped for a larger number of entries, we had enough to put up a lovely little gallery for two weeks to let everyone view and vote on their favorite snapshot. In the end, our very own Nyuu Littlething won the voting and becomes the first winner of our (hopefully) annual photo contest.

Results in order from 1st to 4th (including the fabulous cash prizes) are:

The Rave Room

I put in a seven story building because we needed a helipad (we didn't have one), and then we discovered that it would make a really great place to throw loud, obnoxious parties. So we blacked out the windows, installed a lot of flashy lights, particle machines, and glowing furniture...lined it all with chain link fencing and *poof*...instant rave room! We've already given it a few test runs to shake out the bugs, and we're relatively sure we can break the sim before we hurt any of our party gear.

Tropical Again!

Winter came to an abrupt end last night around midnight and jumped straight back to tropical summer. The snow is gone, the glacier has retreated, and the trees have all thawed out. Of course this means that we can now venture out to the hot tub for extended stays, which we fully intend to do with alarming regularity.

Grab your swimsuit and head back to the EPIC beach for lots of large-breasted jiggly fun.

First Week Done and Done

We survived the first week of 2010 with almost no disasters or dangerous chemical spills. I'm sure OSHA will be so proud!

One of the things I'm going to be adding here (or somewhere easily accessible) is the club's weekly schedule of events, so check back every so often to see what we'll be doing so you can plan on attending.

Happy New Year

For those fortunate enough to venture onto SL on New Year's Eve, we threw together an informal "Come dressed in white" party. I think everyone in attendance was more than ready to put 2009 behind them and start fresh in 2010. Haley DJed long into the night (morning) covering several time zones and keeping us all dancing except for the brief interruption when Linden Labs decided they needed to do an emergency restart of the sim.
